The Commission is hosting a free workshop on Thursday, July 12th, from 6 to 8:30 PM on disaster preparedness for cultural institutions facilitated by Samantha Forsko of the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts.  The workshop location is the Luciano Conference Center at Cumberland County College (3322 College Drive, Vineland).  The workshop is geared to strengthening disaster preparedness measures with cultural heritage, arts and history organizations.  It will include a discussion of the various needs for proactive planning and a step-by-step guide on creating a Pocket Response Plan, a concise document with all the information and procedures for staff to be responsive in any emergency.  The workshop will include collaborative table top exercises involving “what if” disaster scenario’s for participants to learn the essential information needed during a disaster.  To register by phone or email contact the Cumberland County Department of Planning at (856) 453-2175 or mattpi@co.cumberland.nj.us.
