SVRA SpeedTour
Join us for the entire weekend at the New Jersey SpeedTour! This event is perfect for the whole family! Competitors and vehicles from Formula Race Promotions, FR Americas, F4 U.S., Sportscar Vintage Racing Association, and more will be present at SpeedTour events!
Raise the River Kayak/Canoe Event
Dust off your kayak or canoe and load them up. It's a Paddle-A-Thon! Four paddles over three days (July 26, 27, and 28) on the Maurice River. Each paddle will be led by CU Maurice River Naturalists and Staff ($25 per person). Pick and choose the leg(s) you want to paddle. On Sunday, July 28th finish off the weekend beachside with a Crab Dinner complete with Farm-to-Table side dishes at the Union Lake Sailing and Tennis Club’s boat house. Dinner tickets cost $55 per person. CU Maurice River is a non-profit that works to protect the Wild and Scenic Maurice River Watershed. Your participation will support our stream conservation and river education work.
Antique & Summer Market
rain or shine! Get lost in nostalgic bliss! This indoor/outdoor event features a standout collection of Antique Dealers from the Mid-Atlantic area showcasing a wide selection of ceramics, furniture, glass, jewelry, memorabilia, toys, vintage accessories, and more. Enjoy a variety of local artists, traditional craftspeople, food vendors, and farm market proprietors. The Antique & Summer Market is included with General Admission to WheatonArts: $12 adults, $11 seniors, $7 students, and children 5 & under are free. WheatonArts Members are always free! Tickets are available online and at the front gate. Take time to explore the Museum of American Glass, the Down Jersey Folklife Center, Artist Studios (Hot Glass, Pottery, & Flameworking), Museum Stores, and the Nature Trail! Intro to Glass Blowing
We all have to start somewhere! This course will introduce students to beginning glassblowing techniques and proper studio safety practices. Students will learn to gather glass, learn about the proper usage of glassblowing tools, how to create basic shapes and glass-blown forms, and how to work in a team setting. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This course is designed for students with no experience or very minimal knowledge of glassblowing skills. No previous classes are required for this course. Class Duration: 6 sessions, 15 hours total Location: Glass Studio Pet Policy: Visitors are NOT permitted to bring pets onto the WheatonArts campus. Only Service Dogs, as defined by the ADA, are welcome on the grounds. Ages: 16 & above Class Limit: 4 to 8 people eats are limited and booked on a first-come, first-reserve basis. Besides an auto-generated email receipt, you will receive a confirmation email from the Director of Education and Artist Services, Pamela Weichmann. On the 2nd Friday of every month, delve into the life, history, and culture of Down Jersey at the Bayshore Center. There you can sit in on the speaker series or tour the museum; or simply sit back, relax, take in the vista, and enjoy the live music. Food and beverage available. Bayshore Center at Bivalve Hours of Operation (Museum, Cafe & Pub) - Thursday 4pm - 8pm, Sat 12-5pm & Sunday 12- 5pm (May - October) Sail on the historic oyster schooner and New Jersey’s official tall ship, the AJ Meeerwald.
