Seabrook Buddhist Temple plans to move forward with the 2020 Obon festival, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, however it will look and function differently this year.

There will be two Obon Festival events:

July 18 – 6 to 8 pm

A drive through event. Although the event will be free it reservations will need to be made ahead of time to help control the traffic of the event. Currently there will be reservations for 80 cars. The event will feature Minto dancers and Hoh Daiko drummer performances.

Luminary kits will be available for purchase prior to this event. There will also be program books available and ads for the book will offered for purchase too.

July 25 – 6

Virtual Obon Festival. This event will include a message from Reverend Earl Ikeda, and performances from the Minyo dancers and Hoh Daiko.

More details will be forthcoming.
